Does converting to PNG upload my PDF?

No. Every page is rendered to PNG inside your browser using pdf.js and a canvas element. Your document never leaves your device and is never stored on a server, so even sensitive files stay private — something server-based converters cannot offer.

When should I pick PNG over JPG?

Choose PNG when you need lossless quality, razor-sharp text and lines, or transparency — for example diagrams, UI screenshots, logos, or pages you'll edit further in Figma or Photoshop. Pick JPG instead when smaller files matter more than perfect edges, such as color-photo pages.

Are PNG files larger than JPG?

Usually yes, because PNG is lossless and doesn't discard image data the way JPG does. A page rich in photographic color can produce a noticeably bigger PNG. The trade-off is perfect fidelity, which is worth it for graphics, text, and anything you'll edit.

Does PNG output preserve transparency?

PDF pages are rendered onto a white background by default, so the resulting PNGs are opaque. PNG's transparency support is available at the format level, but standard document pages have a solid background and will appear on white in the exported image.
