Watermark PDF — Stamp Text Across Your Pages

Add a text watermark like DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, or your company name across every page of a PDF. Choose a corner or center position, set the opacity, and turn on the diagonal option for a classic across-the-page stamp. The watermark is drawn into the PDF entirely in your browser, so your document is never uploaded — and the only watermark on your file is the one you chose.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does watermarking upload my PDF?

No. The watermark is drawn onto your pages entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Your document is never sent to or stored on a server, so you can mark up confidential drafts and internal files without any copy leaving your device.

Does ConvertOwl add its own watermark to my file?

Never. The only text stamped on your PDF is what you type. There's no ConvertOwl branding, no promotional footer, and no hidden mark — the tool is completely free and adds nothing of its own to your output.

Can I control how the watermark looks?

Yes. You choose the text, its opacity from faint to bold, and its font size. Enable the diagonal option for a 45-degree stamp across the center of each page, or disable it to place the text in a corner or centered horizontally.

Is the watermark applied to every page?

Yes, by default the text is stamped on all pages of the document so the mark is consistent throughout. This makes it ideal for labeling an entire draft or confidential file in a single step.

Can the watermark be removed later?

The watermark is drawn into the page content, so it becomes part of the document rather than a separate removable layer. Keep an unwatermarked copy of your original if you'll need a clean version later — the stamped output is meant to be permanent.

Will the text watermark stay sharp?

Yes. The watermark is drawn as real vector text using a standard font, not a rasterized image, so it stays crisp at any zoom level and prints cleanly. Your underlying pages are unaffected apart from the added text.
