Rotate PDF — Fix Page Orientation Privately

Straighten out sideways or upside-down pages without uploading a thing. Rotate the whole document at once, or click any page's rotate button to turn just that page 90 degrees at a time. Thumbnails update instantly so you can see the result before saving. All rotation is applied in your browser and the rotated PDF downloads directly to your device.

How to use this tool

  1. Open your PDF

Drop a PDF onto the page or browse for it. Every page renders as a thumbnail so you can spot the ones that need turning.

  2. Rotate all or single pages

Use the "Rotate all" buttons to turn every page, or hover a page and click its rotate button to turn only that page 90 degrees clockwise.

  3. Preview the orientation

Thumbnails rotate live as you click, so you can confirm every page faces the right way before applying.

  4. Apply and download

Click Apply rotation & download. Your browser writes the new orientation into the PDF locally and hands you the corrected file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my PDF uploaded to rotate it?

No. Rotation is applied entirely in your browser with pdf-lib, and page previews are rendered locally too. Your document is never transmitted or stored on a server, so rotating a private contract or scan carries no privacy risk at all.

Can I rotate just one page instead of the whole file?

Yes. Each page thumbnail has its own rotate button that turns only that page 90 degrees per click. This is perfect for mixed documents where a single scanned page came in sideways while the rest are upright.

Does rotating re-compress or degrade the pages?

No. Rotation only changes a page's orientation flag in the PDF; the underlying text and images are untouched. There is zero quality loss — a rotated page is pixel-for-pixel identical to the original, just displayed at a different angle.

Which rotation angles are available?

You can rotate in 90-degree steps: 90 clockwise, 180 (upside down), or 270 (90 counter-clockwise). Clicking a single page's button repeatedly cycles through these angles, and the "Rotate all" buttons apply a chosen angle to every page at once.

Will the rotation stick when I open the file elsewhere?

Yes. The new orientation is saved into the PDF itself, so every viewer — Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, or your phone — displays the pages the way you set them. It's a permanent change to the document, not a temporary view setting.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first, since their pages can't be previewed while protected. Use the Unlock PDF tool with the correct password, then rotate the resulting copy — everything still runs locally in your browser.
