LinkedIn Post Mockup - Find Your Fold

LinkedIn hides everything after about 210 characters, and almost nobody taps see more. Find your fold, fix the hook, export a PNG.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the name and body copy

Type the person or company page name and the post text. The counter tracks characters against the fold, and the preview inserts "…see more" at the same point LinkedIn does.

  2. Add an image

Drop in a square, 4:5 portrait or 1.91:1 landscape image. Square and portrait take more feed height, which is the whole argument for using them on LinkedIn.

  3. Rewrite the first two lines

Read only what sits above the fold in the preview. If the hook does not land there, edit until it does - this is the one thing a LinkedIn mockup is genuinely for.

  4. Export a PNG

Download a 2x PNG or copy it to the clipboard for an internal review, a content calendar or an approval thread.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does LinkedIn cut a post off?

LinkedIn shows roughly the first 210 characters of a feed post and hides the rest behind "…see more". On a narrow phone it is less. Because expanding costs a tap, the visible portion carries the post, which is why previewing the fold is worth more than counting total characters.

What image size should a LinkedIn post use?

1200 by 1200 square is the reliable default. A 4:5 portrait at 1200 by 1500 claims more vertical feed space, and 1200 by 627 matches a shared link preview. The ratio buttons re-crop the same file so you can compare all three.

Does this work for company pages and personal profiles?

Both. The card layout is the same, so type whichever name you are posting under and upload the matching logo or headshot as the profile picture. The follower line is sample text in the mockup and is not meant as a real figure.

Can I preview a LinkedIn ad with this?

This page previews organic posts. For paid placements with a Sponsored line, a headline and a call-to-action button, the Meta ads preview covers Facebook and Instagram, and LinkedIn ad placements are on the roadmap for this same studio.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Your image and your text stay in the browser tab. The preview is drawn in the page and the PNG is rendered locally, so no file and no draft copy is ever sent to a server. You can use the tool offline once the page has loaded.
