How to use this tool

  1. Enter the page URL

The host is what appears on the card - the scheme, the www prefix and the path are stripped the way the platforms strip them. Paste the full URL and the preview handles the rest.

  2. Add the title and description

These are your og:title and og:description. Each target applies its own budget, so the same title that fits on X is cut on Facebook and cut differently again on Google.

  3. Drop in the og:image

Upload the 1200 by 630 image you have set as og:image. The card letterboxes it at 1.91:1 exactly as the platforms do, so you can see whether your text overlay survives the crop.

  4. Step through the targets

Move across Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Slack and Google. If a title only makes sense at full length, the one that matters most is the one that cuts it hardest.

  5. Export a PNG

Download the card as a 2x PNG for a ticket, a QA checklist or a handover note showing what the link is supposed to look like.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should an og:title be?

Aim for 60 characters or fewer. Facebook cuts around there, X allows about 70, LinkedIn is more generous at roughly 119, and Google's search title is cut near 60 as well. Writing to the shortest of these means the title survives everywhere it is shared.

What size should an og:image be?

1200 by 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio, is the size every major target accepts. Keep important text away from the edges: some surfaces crop to a squarer shape in compact layouts, and a headline that runs to the frame is the first thing to be lost.

Why does LinkedIn ignore my description?

LinkedIn's feed card shows the image, the title and the domain, and drops og:description entirely. That is why the LinkedIn tab in this tool has no description field - if your pitch lives in the description, LinkedIn shares carry none of it and the title has to do the work.

Will this fetch the tags from my live URL?

No, and that is deliberate. Fetching a URL would mean sending it to a server, which contradicts how the rest of this site works. Paste the values you have set, or plan to set, and the preview shows what they will produce once they are live.

Why does the Google result look different from the others?

Google does not use Open Graph for search results. It builds the snippet from your page title and meta description and shows no og:image, so the Google tab renders a text snippet rather than a card. It is included because the same copy usually has to serve both.
